ABK Multimedia launches Ako Radio in Chicago

Ghanaians and other Africans in the diaspora witnessed something they have been waiting for in a long time in Chicago yesterday. ABK Multimedia launched Ako radio in Chicago last night to give Ghanaians and other immigrants in the diaspora  a platform to be heard and to interact with each other. Ten live programs that are aired on Ako radio were all officially  launched as well. Ako radio has become a powerful media house for Ghanaians in the diaspora even though it has not been in existence for long.

In his welcome address, Mr Osei Agyena who is the Board Chairman of ABK Multimedia expressed his profound gratitude to Ghanaians in the diaspora who have supported their vision and contributed to the success of Ako radio so far. He reiterated that the board decided to set up Ako radio as a result of the proliferation and circulation of fake news and cheap propaganda that the world is experiencing from our social media today. He stated that it is the goal of Ako radio to provide authentic and relevant information and education to the public and offer them a platform to be heard and do business with each other.

Many Ghanaians in the Chicago area were there to witness this historic event. Others traveled from Ghana, Italy, Arizona, Maryland, Missouri, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Michigan, Indiana and other places to be part of this historic event.

Nana Akwafo Adu Brempong II, (Okyeman Hene of Chicago area) who spoke on behalf of the chairpersons expressed appreciation to the board and management of Ako radio for their level of professionalism and hard work and urged them to continue to serve Ghanaians in the diaspora the way they have started. He entreated Ghanaians in the diaspora to patronize Ako radio since it has come to stay.
