Ghana: TOR to start processing a million barrels of crude from the TEN field starting from January 6, 2017

An Oil Refinery

In Ghana, the Tema Oil Refinery (TOR) is expected to start processing crude oil from the Tweneboah Enyerra Ntonme (TEN) field from Friday, January 6, 2017.

This was declared by the Managing Director of TOR, Kwame Awuah Darko, who sees the development as historic.

According to Darko, he is optimistic that the company will process the one million barrels of crude oil it acquires from the operators of the TEN field as scheduled.

He noted that this new development means a lot to the refinery and to the petroleum downstream sector of Ghana adding that TOR is in a better financial position to reorganize itself and become the number one oil refinery in the West African Sub-region without the interference of any international or private investors.

The Managing Director says plans by the company to try to find strategic partners in order to resuscitate operations of TOR has become a thing of the past since the company has been boasting of good financial performance since 2016, Ghanaweb reports.
