The Asanteman Association of Chicago and Midwest has re-elected Nana Addai Baffour as Asantefourhene, Nana Abena Amponsah as Asantefourhemaa and Nana Yaw Sarfo as Sanaahene (treasurer). The only three elected leaders will serve another four year term as stipulated in the constitution of the association. All other positions will be appointed by Nananom.

Nana Yaw Marfo and his election team conducted the election in a very peaceful and transparent manner to the admiration of all members. In his acceptance speech, Nana Addai Baffour, who has been a selfless leader and run unopposed, thanked the members for giving him the opportunity to serve Asanteman again. He reiterated his commitment to work with everybody and work his heart out to grow the association. He said his administration will leave no stone unturned to secure a building for the association before the end of his term, and will also mobilize funds to assist KATH in Kumasi. He called on all Asantes in the Chicago area who have not registered to be members of the association to do so.

It will be recalled that the Asanteman Association of Chicago adopted the maternity ward of the KATH in Kumasi and donated hospital equipments worth about $30,000.00 to the hospital early this month.
